Fractional PM

The engagement scope is explicit on purpose. A Fractional PM serving multiple clients simultaneously cannot absorb scope creep in the form of additional meetings or travel. The scope cap protects the depth of attention each engagement receives — it’s a time management principle, not a cost-saving measure.
Engagement structure:
- 12-month minimum term — a full planning cycle is required for the framework to take root in team behavior
- Quarterly auto-renewal after the initial term, with 30-day cancellation notice before any renewal
- Standard Scrum ceremonies with one team, up to 5 engineers
- No travel; remote or hybrid is the default
- Any expansion beyond scope triggers a scope conversation before work begins
What the engagement produces: a documented Capability Spectrum℠ map of the team’s value stream, a live Objectives Backlog℠ in user voice, an Alignment Ceremony℠ cadence the team owns, and internal PMs coached toward independent practice. The work survives the engagement — every artifact lives in the platform under the client’s account and remains theirs after IPP exits.
License model: The engagement assumes the client holds an active Team License. The client pays for the Team License independently — the engagement fee does not bundle a license. The IPP Fractional PM holds an IPP Staff seat (included in the engagement fee) granting active write access to the client’s environment, without consuming one of the client’s paid seats.
A natural starting point: Many Fractional PM engagements begin with a Discovery Sprint. The Sprint produces working artifacts in two weeks and gives both sides a tested working relationship before committing to twelve months.
